Barnesville Hospital recognized the special people who give of their time, energy, and talents at its annual Volunteer Recognition Banquet at Annie K’s Restaurant. The banquet was held in conjunction with National Volunteer Week where the theme was “Volunteers: Our Greatest Natural Resource.” The invocation and benediction were provided by Tom Detling, pastor of the Bethesda Methodist Church. Providing entertainment for the evening was David Crum.
Statistics demonstrate the contribute the volunteers make to Barnesville Hospital and the community throughout the year. Over 182 individuals volunteered 9,102 hours and 6,405 meals were delivered through the “Meals on Wheels” program.
Teen volunteers receiving 100 hour pins were Mallory Christman, Alexis Dodd, and Casey Glenn while Mariah Leach received a 200 hour bar. Receiving candy striper patches were Mallory Christman, Lexi Froehlich, MaKayla Cregar, Anna Kaauamo, Arika Kemp, Abbigail McMillen, Anna Jo Nardo, Aubrey Snider, and Rachel Stewart.
Adult volunteers receiving 500 hour pins were Bob Harris and Jeannine Triplett; 1,000 pin recipients were Don Anderson, Sue Callow, Ruth Frye, and Irene Monte de Ramos. Mary Jo Huntsman and Wilbur Stanley earned 2,000 hour pins, while 3,000 pins were awarded to Belva Tychonski and Kate Whiteley. Mary Ann Delloma received both 4,000 hour and 5,000 hour pins.
