Barnesville Hospital is proud to announce the addition of Craig J. Miller, M.D. as a general ophthalmologist to the medical/surgical staff starting August 1, 2016. Dr. Miller will be joining the practice of Dr. John Antalis at Eye Surgery of Eastern Ohio and will have office hours at both Cambridge and St. Clairsville.
Dr. Miller brings with him a stellar academic record. He graduated in 2004 as valedictorian of Barnesville High School, then obtained his bachelors degree and was salutatorian at Muskingum University. His M.D. was obtained at The Ohio State University, where he was awarded the top student in both years one and two. He has had excellent scores throughout his residency at Ohio State and was honored as their chief resident his senior year.
In addition to cataract surgery and other general ophthalmology procedures at Barnesville Hospital, Dr. Miller also has received extensive training and will offer patients intravitreal injections for conditions such as macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. Up to this point patients had to travel out of the area to receive such treatment and can now be offered locally at the Cambridge office.
We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Miller back to Barnesville, said David Phillips, CEO, Barnesville Hospital. It is meaningful when someone of Dr. Millers caliber decides they want to return to their hometown and to care for area residents. I hope you will join with me to make him feel welcome.
Dr. Miller, his wife Jaimee, and their two small children are moving to the area in July and his first day of practice will be August 1, 2016. Appointments can be made with Dr. Miller by calling, 740-526-0092 or 800-774-2588.
