The Barnesville Hospital Auxiliary has generously contributed $28,000 to Barnesville Hospital towards the purchase of equipment and to refurbish a patient room. Each year the Auxiliary requests that Departments throughout the Hospital submit a Wish List of equipment and projects which are needed. An emphasis is placed on purchases which will positively impact patient care.
The Auxiliary members host fundraisers during the year, such as Bake Sales, Book Fairs and Luncheons, said Ruth Anderson, Director of Volunteers. Our Auxiliary members work extremely hard to be able to fund projects which will directly benefit our patients.
This year the Auxiliary funded eleven projects which will benefit Cardiac Rehab, the Emergency Department, the Operating Department, Medical Records, Laboratory, Dietary, Occupational Therapy and the Medical Surgical Unit.
In addition to the purchase of equipment, the Auxiliarys generous support provided $5,000 to provide a facelift for one patient room on the Medical Surgical Unit. This consists of paint, new flooring and ceiling, replacement of sink, toilet and counter, new chairs, bedside table, over the bed table and LED lighting. Community members are invited to join with the Auxiliary to refurbish additional patient rooms. Gifts can be made in any amount and rooms will be upgraded as funds are received.
