The Barnesville Hospital Employee Wellness Program recently completed its sixth annual 5K Training Club during the months of August and September 2016. Participants trained over an eight week period by running and/or walking with others to develop the strength and conditioning to finish a 5K. There were weekly group runs/walks during the two months and an eight week training schedule was provided to all participants.
On September 24, 2016 the Barnesville Pumpkin Festival held its annual 5K race which was the goal of our 2016 5K Training Club. Thirty-six members of the 5K Club completed the race. Dr. Michael Baum, M.D. and Tracey Childress, FNP, along with the Barnesville Hospital Employee Wellness Program, sponsored t-shirts for each of the participants in the club.
The 2016 5K Training Club was open to all employees of Barnesville Hospital and their friends and family members. This was a great way to get in shape, learn some tips on running or walking races, and to work with others to achieve your fitness goals.
