Barnesville Hospital Foundation will offer a four part Financial Planning Series including sessions on the New Tax Laws, Basic Financial Planning, Investing and Planning for Retirement and Estate Planning. One program will be held each month beginning in May and continuing through August. Sessions will include a one hour presentation and additional time for questions.
William Knox, CPA will kick off the series on May 17th at 7 PM in the Barnesville Hospital classroom discussing the new tax laws. There are dozens of changes to the individual tax code, including a more generous standard deduction and child tax credit. However, other deductions have been curtailed.
“It is important for area residents to understand early on in the tax year how the new tax laws may impact them,” said Knox. “If people wait until next spring when they are ready to file their taxes it is too late to make the necessary adjustments that may help them financially.”
