2nd Annual Pink Warrior 5K Powder Run/Walk

The Barnesville Hospital Foundation is hosting its 2nd Annual Pink Warrior 5K Powder Run/Walk on October 18th at 9:00 am at the Barnesville Depot. The race was first held in 2013, bringing in a record breaking crowd for the event. Coordinators Karen Mihalic and Peggy Skinner hope to make this years 5K even more memorable. We have added additional color stations, added additional colors to be tossed at participants, and we ramping up the entertainment stated Mihalic. Our goal is give the best time we can to the attendees, so they continue to support our cause.

This year, area schools were invited to volunteer at the event. We want to involve the teens in their communitys health, while letting them have a great time supporting our cause, states Skinner. We have representatives from West Virginia Northern Community College, Barnesville, Union Local, Beallsville, St Sylvesters, and St Clairsville school systems.

A non-toxic colored cornstarch is tossed at participants as they pass through the seven color stations that are set up along the 5K path. Also, there is entertainment provided throughout the course by Marching Bands, DJs, Cheerleaders, Vocal Bands, and the thundering Harleys set up to rumble the attendees through the tunnel.
